Our story ...
Mit Liebe (which means "with love" in German) was founded in 1998 by Anita Delzer in Suamico, WI. Anita’s mission was simple: "We will save one, until there are none." Driven by a deep love for German Shepherds, she worked tirelessly to rescue hundreds of dogs in need. Her dedication and passion for the breed continued until her passing in August 2019.
Anita’s legacy lives on today through a dedicated team of volunteers and her loving family, who continue her mission to help this intelligent, loyal, and noble breed.

Our Mission
Mit Liebe German Shepherd Dog Rescue (MLGSDR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, neglected, or unwanted German Shepherds. We are committed to giving these dogs a second chance by providing them with housing, veterinary care, and ongoing support to ensure successful and loving dog-owner relationships.
We are based in Suamico, WI, and primarily rescue German Shepherds from the Midwest. We rely entirely on donations and fundraising to support our work and provide the necessary care for the dogs we rescue.

- Foster Homes Needed: Foster homes are a critical part of our rescue efforts. We are always in need of caring individuals who can provide temporary homes for dogs in need.
- Volunteer: There are many ways you can help MLGSDR. Whether it’s by fostering, assisting at events, or helping with daily operations, volunteers are essential to our mission.
