Meet Bo, a very friendly 1-2 year old neutered male German Shepherd. He is very intelligent and he learns really fast. He walks quite well on a lease with a regular collar, but perfect with a pinch collar. He knows the basic commands, sit, lay down shake and come here. He likes women best, but very quickly warms up to men. I have not had the chance to test him with children or cats, but he gets along real well with my 4 dogs, 1 female and 3 males. They love to run and play together and they will lay together in the house. He will go into a crate, but doesn't like it much. We have never had to crate him though, because he behaves so well. He has not had any accidents in the house in the 4 weeks we have had him here. He always lets us know when he needs to go outside. He does have Perianal Fistula, so he will need some meds the rest of his life. He takes the meds. without any trouble and it would be a good idea to feed him grain free food. He would make a wonderful addition to any home. If you have further questions regarding Bo please contact Mark at email@example.com or 715-851-8031.
Meet Shorty! A fun loving, playful and cuddly German Shepherd. He will melt your heart. Shorty is 1-2 years old and very small for the GSD breed. He loves to be around people and just wants to snuggle up next to you. He loves to run around and wrestle with his foster sister, a GSD. Shorty was found as a stray, so he is crated during the day (without much fuss) and is almost completely house-trained but has had an accident on occasion. However, never in his kennel. He has proven to be able to sleep in bed with his foster humans without accidents. Did I mention that Shorty loves to cuddle?!?! He is learning his basic commands like sit, down and come here. He will need some additional work and encouragement with these commands but is very treat motivated. Shorty does like to jump up on people but has learned quickly in his foster home he won't get pet until he is sitting. He just gets so excited when someone comes into the house that he forgets his manners. He quickly calms down and just wants love and affection. He might be little but has a huge heart!
Shadow is in search of her perfect forever home. Her perfect home consists of one or two adults and no kids under 12. She'd love to have a dog brother and a cat or two would be ok. Her perfect home could have house guests but a really busy home would not be ideal. Likes: long walks with her special someone, smoked bones and bully sticks, the couch, wrestling with her foster brother, and of course, squeeky stuffed toys. They don't last long though, so the tougher the better. Dislikes: seem to be small dogs and other alpha female dogs. Shadow is housebroken and will tolerate a crate if needed. She has proven to be reliable in the house. Shadow lives with a cat currently and will play chase him once in awhile, but doesn't do so aggressively or with a strong prey drive. Mostly she's indifferent to the cat. Shadow knows basic commands but will need to attend formal obedience training. This is not at all because she is a bad dog but rather so she understands her new human(s) are the boss and not her. She walks nicely on a leash. She likes to play fetch with the tennis ball but is not ball crazy. Shadow can be a bit of a beggar for people food, which she is not given in her foster home. Shadow is happy to cuddle on the couch or just hang out. She does love affection and will nudge at your hand if you stop petting her. Shadow seems to have some grain allergies and is on grain free food, fish oil and coconut oil to keep her from being an itchy girl. If you think Shadow might be the girl of your dreams, please contact the rescue at firstname.lastname@example.org or foster directly at email@example.com
Update from his foster mom, Jen:
Luka loves when Jon takes him on the bicycle rides. He thinks Jon's Christmas present was for him! High energy boy, Luka is. He loves his hikes too, of course, as well as his romps in the back with his jolly balls. We have five jolly balls now: large green, one large and two small blue and one large yellow. Luka still is paranoid about the world being out to get him, as... he was at the vet with the 'suspicious' woman in the rolling chair that was staring at him because he was so handsome. But, we keep on and continue to show him that the world actually does have a lot of nice people. We are trying to get more weight put on him. He is a picky eater, but we have been able to sneak in some higher cal food into his meals, and he eats everything right up. He was my car companion today. With the spring-like temps of mid-30s, I was able to take him all over on my trips today.
